Activity

Track and share how you move.

Hytch keeps your steps, runs, walks, and trips in one place, lets the people you choose follow your live journey until you arrive, and records the distance and impact of every trip.

Share a live journey

Share a live journey, not just an ETA.

When you start a walk, run, bike, or scooter trip, you can share a link. The people you send it to watch your live location move along your route until you arrive. An ETA gives one predicted time; a live journey shows your actual progress.

01

Set out

Start a walk, run, bike, or scooter trip in Hytch.

02

Share the link

Send it into a Hytch chat, or share the link with anyone: a partner, a parent, a friend.

03

They follow along

Anyone with the link sees your live location and estimated arrival update in real time.

04

You arrive

The link closes when your trip ends. You can stop sharing at any point before that.

A flag if you move faster than your mode allows.

A live journey knows your travel mode, so it knows the speed range that mode allows. If you are walking, running, biking, or scootering and you move faster than that range, anyone following your journey sees it flagged on the map. GPS can be imperfect, so it is a prompt to check in, not an alarm.

  • Available only for walking, running, biking, and scootering, the modes with a predictable speed range
  • Cars, rideshare, and transit cannot start a live journey, so normal variation in driving speed never triggers a flag
  • The flag appears on the map of the people following your journey
Stats on foot

Steps, distance, and pace on foot.

Hytch counts the distance you cover on foot and keeps it for today, the last 7 days, and the last 30 days.

Steps and miles

Steps and distance on foot for today, the last 7 days, and the last 30 days.

Daily average and best day

Your average steps per day and your highest step day over the last 30 days.

Apple Health sync

Opt in to read steps and workouts from Apple Health, and save your Hytch walks and runs back as workouts.

Runs and walks

Runs and walks, mapped.

Each walk and run is saved with its route, pace, and duration.

Pace, distance, time

Every activity records distance, pace per mile, and duration.

Route maps

The route you traveled is drawn on a map for each activity and across your history.

Shareable recaps

Turn a run or walk into a recap card to share with contacts or a buddy group.

Trip stats and impact

Trip stats and impact.

Every trip records its distance and how you traveled, and estimates the driving and emissions you avoided.

Distance and trips

Total miles and total trips, with your longest and average trip and the buddies you traveled with.

Impact grade

Each trip gets an impact grade from A+ to D based on how you traveled.

CO₂ and fuel saved

Estimated emissions reduced and fuel saved when you walk, bike, carpool, or take transit instead of driving alone.

Points and streaks

Points, streaks, and achievements.

Movement earns Activity Points. Consistent movement builds streaks and unlocks milestones.

Streaks and daily goals

Set a daily goal and build a streak. Milestones at set day counts unlock point jackpots and monthly badges.

Achievements

Unlock achievements for firsts and milestones, from your first trip to your fiftieth and beyond.

Weekly leagues

Weekly leaderboards against a small group, with tiers to move through as your points add up.

Trust

Sharing you control.

A live journey is tied to one trip and ends when the trip ends. You can disable the link at any time, and everything you share you can take back.

  • A live journey is tied to one trip and closes when you arrive
  • Disable the link at any time to remove access for everyone who had it
  • Health and step data stays on your device, and you choose what to share

Activity questions

My Activity collects your movement in one place: steps and distance on foot for today, the last 7 days, and the last 30 days; your runs and walks with pace, duration, and a route map for each one; and trip stats for each journey with distance, estimated CO2 reduced, and an impact grade. Streaks, achievements, and weekly leagues sit alongside it.

A live journey shares a link so the people you choose can follow you in real time on foot, on a run, on a bike, or on a scooter until you arrive. Unlike a single ETA, they see your actual location move along your route. You can share it into a Hytch chat or send the link anywhere, and you can stop sharing at any time.

If you are walking, running, biking, or scootering and you move faster than that mode's speed range, anyone following your live journey sees it flagged on the map. GPS can be imperfect, so it is a prompt to check in rather than an alarm. Live journeys are only available for walking, running, biking, and scootering, so cars, rideshare, and transit, whose speeds vary widely, never trigger it.

No. A live journey is tied to a single trip and is revocable. It ends when your trip ends, and you can disable the link at any time, which removes access for everyone who had it. Location sharing supports a specific journey, not continuous background tracking.

Yes, when you opt in. Hytch can read your steps and workouts from Apple Health to build your on-foot stats and route history, and it can save your Hytch walks and runs back to Health as workouts. Health data stays on your device, and you choose what to share.
